Foster for Lancashire

24th of November, 2023

Lancashire County Council is asking people to consider what transferrable skills they may have gained from careers or life experience to make a good foster carer. This could be anything from more obvious jobs like teaching assistants or care workers, to stay at home parents or shop assistants with people skills. Any of these roles may have people with the right attributes to transform the lives of vulnerable local children.

To be a foster carer, all you need is a spare room, to be over 21 years old and a desire to provide a safe, stable, and caring home for a child. The council offer a generous allowance of £379.20-497.24 per week per child, a one off £1,101 welcome payment and a comprehensive package of training and support.
