Election changes

Two new councillors are scheduled to take office in May after an uncontested election, as the six nominations matched the number of seats. Joining will be Fiona Cardwell and Jean Wilson.

 

Plantsman chosen

Andy Taylor of Hambleton has been appointed as plantsman to the council. He took over the role on April 9.

 

School helpers

Councillors have supported the village school's offer to maintain one of the council's planting features and discussions are to take place over its location.

 

Rally boost

Grateful organisers of the successful rally in March have donated 500 to the council for charitable purposes.

 

Air support

The council is to give 100 to the North West Air Ambulance in recognition of the service's valuable work.

Annual Parish meeting

This will be held on Tuesday 14 May at 6.30pm in the village hall.
